Buckles... the animal lovers comic strip

So, I learned this week that the Toronto Sun has dropped the comic strip "Buckles". BOOOOOO!

It was such a great 3 second read for me everyday, and when it was about the backyard shenanigans; I could totally relate. Scrappy the Squirrel was by far my favorite character to pop up in the strip. Who doesn't have a squirrel like him... who has a backyard that is. The one that really made me laugh out loud had Scrappy yelling at the birds in the backyard, because it was mid-autumn and he was telling them to fly south or else they would all freeze to death (because he wanted the bird feeders to himself).

Buckles is still in publication with hundreds of other papers about the continent, which is awesome. Is it lazy of me to not like the idea of going and looking for him on-line now, to get the latest strip? For me, it's more about how I would read the strip, in the paper, at work, and for those few seconds I am taken away from the warehouse and straight to my own backyard.

The strip above, with Buckles hogging the bed... I am sure anybody with a pet, cat or dog, will agree to. I saw that one the other day and I said, "That's Meadow!" as we are experiencing this nightly with her.
